Jared Leto se encontraba escalando en el Cañón de Red Rock, Nevada, cuando tuvo un accidente que pudo costarle la vida. Así lo relata él mismo:
‘No es por sonar dramático pero este es el día en el que casi muero. Tuve una buena caída mientras escalaba en Red Rock junto a Alex Honnold. Vi hacia arriba y en segundos la cuerda estaba siendo cortada por un piedra mientras yo colgaba por unos 180 metros en el aire. Recuerdo ver al piso abajo de mí. Fue un momento extraño, menos miedo, más hechos y un poco melancólico. La adrenalina vino después cuando regresé a la pared. Sobrevivimos eso para poder ver otro día. En general fue muy divertido. Continuamos escalando en la noche’.
